What This Tool Does

Open your Facebook ZIP to review your friends list locally. Searchable, exportable, and free. No Facebook login on our site, and your archive never leaves your device.

How To Use It

1. On Facebook, open , then , then , then (Meta may label this "Download Your Information").

2. Select your profile, choose format, and include (or friends). Submit the request.

3. Wait for Meta's email, then download the `.zip`. Don't unzip it. `friends.json` should stay under `friends_and_followers` inside the archive.

4. Upload the ZIP on this page.

5. Search names, review your roster, and export to CSV if you want a spreadsheet copy.

Limitations

• Facebook's friends export is a list snapshot, not a live follower feed. Unfollower-style tabs may be empty if Meta doesn't include separate follower/following lists

• Data matches your export date, not today's friend count
• Page follower insights for business pages depend on what Meta includes in your download

What's Inside the Facebook Friends Export?

The supported friends data can include information such as names and profile links. When the relevant friends.json file is available, the tool extracts the supported records and presents them in an easier format.

You can search the list by name, review the available profiles, see the number of friend records found, and save the parsed results as a CSV file.

Facebook Friends vs Followers

Facebook friends and followers are not always represented as the same type of relationship.

A friend connection is generally a two way connection, while someone can follow a profile without being added as a friend. The exact information available for each relationship depends on what Meta includes in your downloaded archive.

This tool only displays supported information found in your export and does not create missing follower or following records.

Can You Find Who Unfriended You on Facebook?

A single Facebook data export normally provides a snapshot of the relationships included at the time the archive was generated. It does not automatically contain a complete history of everyone who has unfriended you.

If you keep exports from different dates, you can compare the available friend lists to identify differences between those snapshots.

If someone unfriends you after the export was created, that change will not appear in the existing ZIP.

Facebook Profile vs Facebook Page

Facebook profiles and Facebook Pages can provide different types of information through Meta's data export system.

This tool is primarily designed to analyze supported friend information from your exported Facebook account data. Page follower or audience information depends on what Meta includes in the specific download.

A Facebook Page does not use the same friend relationship model as a personal profile, so Page data should not automatically be interpreted as a personal friends list.

Facebook Page Followers and Insights

If your download contains supported Page or audience information, the available data can vary depending on your account type and the options selected when requesting the archive.

Page insights and follower information should therefore be treated separately from personal Facebook friend data. The tool can only display information that is actually included in the downloaded archive.

Why Is friends.json Important?

The friends.json file contains structured information about supported Facebook friend records when Meta includes it in your export.

Instead of opening the JSON file manually, the tool reads the supported information and turns it into a searchable list.

If the expected file is missing, the tool may not be able to generate the normal friend list results.

Why Should I Keep the Original ZIP?

The original Facebook export can contain multiple folders and files that work together as part of your downloaded account data.

Keeping the ZIP intact makes it easier for the tool to locate supported files such as friends.json. Avoid removing files, renaming folders, or creating a new ZIP containing only selected items.

Common Facebook Export Problems

My Friends List Is Empty

Your archive may not contain the required friend information. Check that you requested the relevant friends data and try downloading a fresh export if necessary.

friends.json Is Missing

Meta may not have included the expected file in your particular download. Requesting another archive with the relevant information selected may help.

The ZIP File Is Not Accepted

Make sure you are uploading the original ZIP downloaded from Facebook or Meta. Screenshots, HTML pages, or manually created ZIP files may not contain the required structured data.

My Results Look Outdated

Your results come from the date your export was generated. A new friendship or unfriending that happens afterward will not automatically appear.

Some Follower Information Is Missing

Meta does not necessarily provide every follower or following relationship in every export. The tool cannot display information that is not present in the downloaded archive.

How Accurate Are the Results?

The tool displays the supported friend and follower information found in your Facebook export. It does not estimate missing relationships or create records that are not included in the source data.

The completeness of the results depends on the information Meta provides in your particular Download Your Information archive.

What This Tool Cannot Do

This tool does not maintain a live connection to Facebook or continuously monitor your friends list.

It cannot recover a complete history of everyone who unfriended you from a single current export. It also cannot access another person's private friend list or retrieve information that Meta does not include in your archive.

The tool does not send friend requests, remove friends, or make changes to your Facebook account.

How to Track Facebook Friend Changes Over Time

An older archive gives you one snapshot, while a newer archive gives you another. Comparing the two lists can help you identify differences between those dates.

A single Facebook export cannot provide a complete historical record because it represents the information available when Meta generated the archive.

Avoid uploading screenshots, manually copied friend lists, HTML only files, or data belonging to another person.
