What This Tool Does

Upload your compatible Meta data export ZIP to review your Threads follower relationships in one place. You can see accounts you follow that do not follow you back, accounts that follow you without a follow back, and your mutual connections. The tool works directly in your browser without requiring a Threads login, and your ZIP file stays on your device during the analysis.

How to Use It

1. Open Instagram or the Meta Accounts Center

Open the Instagram app or website, go to Settings, open Accounts Center, and select Your information and permissions.

2. Request Your Information

Choose Download your information, select your Threads or connected Meta account, and choose Some of your information if available. Select the relevant followers and following information, choose Download to device, and select All time for the date range. Choose JSON as the format instead of HTML, then submit the request and wait for Meta to prepare your file.

3. Download the ZIP File

When Meta sends the download notification or email, open the provided link and download the ZIP file to your device. Keep the file in its original `.zip` format and do not extract it before uploading.

4. Upload the ZIP

Return to this page and drag the ZIP file into the upload area, or select it using the file picker on your device. The analysis takes place directly in your browser.

5. Review Your Results

Once processing is complete, review the available lists to see accounts that do not follow you back, accounts that follow you without a follow back, and mutual connections. You can search through the results or export the information to CSV if you want to keep a copy.

How Threads Follower Analysis Works

Threads follower analysis works by comparing the follower and following information contained in your Meta data export. Once you select your ZIP file, the tool reads the relevant data in your browser and organizes the relationships into simple lists.

This makes it easier to see which accounts you follow, which accounts follow you, and where the two lists overlap. Because the analysis uses your exported data, the results represent the information available in the archive rather than a live connection to your Threads account.

How to Get Your Threads Data From Meta

To analyze your Threads follower information, first request a copy of your account data through Meta's Accounts Center. Select the relevant information for your Threads profile and request the export in a format supported by the tool.

Once Meta prepares the archive, download the ZIP file to your device. Keep the original ZIP intact rather than extracting or modifying its contents before uploading it to the checker.

The exact options shown by Meta can change over time, so follow the current instructions displayed in your Accounts Center when requesting your information.

Why JSON Is Required

JSON stores information in a structured format that can be read and compared by the tool more reliably. The follower and following information in the export can then be organized into lists and matched against each other.

If you request the export in HTML instead, the required structured data may not be available in the format the tool expects. For that reason, use JSON when the export options allow you to select a format.

Can You Really Find Threads Unfollowers?

A single current data export can show which accounts you follow that are not currently listed among your followers. However, it cannot by itself prove that those accounts previously followed you and later unfollowed you.

To identify an actual unfollow over time, you need two snapshots from different dates. By comparing an older follower list with a newer one, you can identify accounts that were previously present but are no longer included.

This distinction is important because a current list shows a relationship at the time the export was created, not the complete history of changes to your account.

Current Snapshot vs Historical Tracking

Current Snapshot

Your uploaded export represents the follower and following information available when Meta generated the archive. Any changes made afterward will not appear in that file.

Historical Tracking

Historical tracking requires multiple exports collected at different points in time. Comparing those snapshots can help you identify changes between one date and another.

Unfollower Detection

If an account appears in an older follower export but is missing from a newer one, that comparison can provide evidence of a follower change between the two snapshots. One current export alone cannot establish when or why a change occurred.

What This Tool Cannot Do

This tool is designed to analyze your own exported account information. It does not provide access to another person's private follower data or account information.

It also does not provide a live connection to Threads, recover complete historical follower activity from a single export, or automatically change your following list.

The results depend on the information Meta includes in your export. If relevant Threads files or follower information are missing, the analysis may be incomplete.

What Happens to Your ZIP File?

The ZIP archive is selected from your device and processed in your browser. The tool reads the relevant information needed for the follower comparison and organizes the results locally.

No Threads password is required, and you do not need to connect your social media account to the tool. This approach lets you analyze your own exported information without giving the site direct access to your account.

Common Meta Export Problems

Threads Data Is Missing

If the downloaded archive does not contain the information required for the analysis, request a fresh export and make sure the relevant Threads information is included.

Wrong Format

If you selected HTML instead of JSON, request another export using JSON when that option is available.

ZIP File Was Extracted

If the tool expects the original archive, upload the .zip file rather than individual files extracted from it.

Export Is Old

An older archive only contains information from the time it was generated. Request a new export when you need a more recent snapshot.

Incomplete Data

The tool can only analyze information that Meta includes in the downloaded archive. Missing files or incomplete account data can result in incomplete lists.

How Often Should You Export Your Data?

There is no fixed schedule required. Request a new export whenever you want a newer snapshot of your Threads follower activity.

If you want to monitor changes over a longer period, keeping exports from different dates can be useful. You can then compare the snapshots to understand how your follower and following relationships changed over time.

Remember that an exported ZIP does not continuously update after it has been downloaded. A new export is needed when you want newer information.

Threads Data Export Explained

Meta can provide information for connected services through its Accounts Center data export process. As a result, a downloaded archive may contain folders or files related to more than one Meta platform.

This does not necessarily mean that something is wrong with your download. The important part is that the archive contains the relevant Threads information required for the analysis.

The tool focuses on the supported follower and following data rather than requiring you to manually sort through every file in the archive.

Tips for Reviewing Your Results

Start by checking the mutual connections to understand which relationships are two way. Then review accounts you follow that do not appear in your follower list.

You can also check accounts that follow you without a follow back if you want to understand the other side of your follower relationships.

Use the search feature when looking for a specific username, and export the results to CSV if you want to keep a separate copy for your own records.

Limitations

The results are based on a snapshot of your Threads data export. They do not represent live follower counts or changes that happened after Meta generated the archive.

The available information also depends on what Meta includes in your export. If follower or following files are missing, requesting a fresh JSON data export may provide a more complete dataset.

Some follower analysis features may be limited by the Threads information included in the export. The available data can also differ from what Meta provides for other platforms.

For privacy and security, the tool is designed to analyze your own exported account data. It cannot be used to access or analyze another person's private account information.

You do not need to enter your Threads or Instagram password on this site. Your exported archive is processed locally in your browser, where the follower and following information is compared.

The ZIP file is not uploaded to our servers for analysis. This keeps your exported account data on your device while the tool processes the information.
