Before you start, make sure you are logged into the correct Pinterest account on your browser. Pinterest uses a third-party provider called SendSafely to deliver your data export, so the file will arrive via email once your request is processed. The whole process takes just a few clicks, and you do not need any special tools or third-party apps to get your data. This guide walks you through every step with real screenshots so you can follow along tap-for-tap.

Safety First

You never need to share your Pinterest password with any outside website or tool to access your own data. Pinterest has a built-in official data request option inside your account settings. If any website or app promises to show your Pinterest followers, saved pins, or account activity by asking you to "connect your Pinterest" or log in through their platform, that is a credential risk. Always use the official method described in this guide, which keeps everything inside pinterest.com.

Step 1. Open the Settings and Support Menu

Pinterest tracker guide

Click your profile avatar in the bottom-left corner of Pinterest.

Open pinterest.com in your browser and make sure you are logged in. Look at the bottom-left corner of the page and click the gear icon or your profile picture. A small popup menu called Settings and Support will appear. You will see options including Settings, Refine your recommendations, Link to Pinterest, Reports and violations center, and more.

Step 2. Click "Settings"

Step2 Pinterest tracker

Click the "Settings" option at the very top of the Settings and Support menu.

In the Settings and Support popup, the first option at the top is simply called Settings. Click it. This takes you to your full Pinterest account settings page, where you can manage everything from your profile and notifications to privacy controls and data options.

Step 3. Click "Privacy and data" in the Left Sidebar

Step 3

Find "Privacy and data" in the left-side menu and click it.

Once you are inside the Settings page, you will see a list of sections in the left sidebar: Edit profile, Account management, Profile visibility, Refine your recommendations, Link to Pinterest, Social permissions, Notifications, Privacy and data, Security, Branded Content, and Labs. Click on Privacy and data. This is where Pinterest keeps all your data controls including ad preferences, data sharing settings, and the option to request or delete your data.

Step 4. Scroll Down to "Request your data"

Scroll to the bottom of the Privacy and data page.

After clicking Privacy and data, you will land on a page with several sections. Scroll past the privacy toggles, the GenAI section (which controls whether your data is used to train Pinterest Canvas), and the Delete your data and account section. At the very bottom, you will find a box titled Request your data. The description reads: "Request a copy of the information Pinterest collects about you. Our third-party provider SendSafely will email you a copy of your data after receiving your request."

Step 5. Click the "Request data" Button

step

Click the grey "Request data" button on the right side of the Request your data box.

Inside the Request your data section, you will see a grey button on the right side that says Request data. Click it. Pinterest will process your request and hand it off to SendSafely, which is their official data delivery partner. You do not need to fill out any form or select data categories. Pinterest automatically prepares a full copy of all the information they have collected about your account.

Step 6. Wait for the Email from SendSafely

Check the email address linked to your Pinterest account.

After clicking Request data, Pinterest passes your request to SendSafely. You will receive an email at the address connected to your Pinterest account. The email will contain a secure download link for your data file. Pinterest does not give a fixed delivery time, but most requests arrive within a few hours to a couple of days depending on how much data your account has.

Make sure to check your spam or junk folder if you do not see the email in your inbox after a few hours. The sender will be from SendSafely, not directly from Pinterest, so some email providers may filter it.

Step 7. Download Your Data File

Open the email from SendSafely and click the download link.

Once the email arrives, open it and click the secure download link inside. This will take you to a SendSafely page where you can download your Pinterest data file. Save it to your device. The file will contain all the data Pinterest has on your account including your profile information, boards, pins, followers, following, search history, and more depending on how long you have been using Pinterest.

Troubleshooting

Email never arrived. First check your spam or junk folder. The email comes from SendSafely, not from a pinterest.com address, so it can sometimes land in spam. If it has been more than 48 hours and there is still nothing, go back to the Privacy and data settings page and try clicking Request data again.

The download link in the email expired. SendSafely links do not stay active forever. If you click the link and it has already expired, go back to Pinterest settings, open Privacy and data, and submit a new Request data request.

You are not sure which email is linked to your Pinterest account. Go to Settings, click Account management, and you will see the email address currently connected to your account. That is where the SendSafely email will be sent.

You want to delete your data instead of downloading it. Just above the Request your data section on the Privacy and data page, there is a separate Delete data button. Only click that if you want to permanently remove your data and account. It cannot be undone.

You clicked the button but nothing happened. Try refreshing the page and clicking Request data again. Make sure your browser is not blocking any popups or redirects from pinterest.com.

What to Do With Your Pinterest Data

Once you have your data file, you can open it to review everything Pinterest has stored about your account. This includes your full list of boards and saved pins, your followers and following list, your search history, your ad preferences and interaction data, and general account information. If you are using a pinterest tracker tool that reads Pinterest follow data, you can drop the exported file into that tool and it will process everything locally in your browser without uploading your data anywhere else.
