What you’ll need

Your Instagram account (mobile app or web), about 60 seconds, and patience for Meta to email your ZIP file (anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours).

The four-step process

1. Request your Instagram data. Settings → Account Center → Your information and permissions → Download your information. Choose "Some of your information" → Followers and Following → JSON.

2. Wait for Meta’s email. Save the ZIP to your phone or desktop.

3. Drop the ZIP into the tool. Open the Instagram unfollowers tracker and drag the ZIP into the upload box.

4. Explore your results. Browse unfollowers, ghost follow requests, one-way fans, and mutual followers.

Behind the scenes

Meta provides JSON files like `followers_1.json` and `following.json`. The tracker compares them as set differences, `following − followers` for unfollowers, `followers − following` for fans, and `followers ∩ following` for mutuals.
